[10.June.2004] xplorer˛ — the new generation
2xExplorer is officially pronounced dead. You can still download it for free, but that's about it. xplorer˛ is the way to the future. It comes with a "pro" and a "lite" version. The lite version is free and much more powerful than 2xExplorer, and you should really give it a try!

[11.December.2003] WTL 7.1 released
WTL is the class library used to program both xplorer˛ and editor˛. Nenad Stefanovic, the godfather of WTL, has released an update correcting a few buglets and adding seamless support for the newer versions of developer studio — not that I'd care about it since I'm still with VS6. WTL is small and nifty, and could be learnt down to the metal by a single developer in polynomial time — the exact opposite to the bloat of all these .NET stuff that micros~1 are trying to force down our necks. No thanks!

[13.Oct.2002] Tips and Tricks #3: Infotip customization.
The latest version Z1 has brought shell infotips within 2xExplorer. Although the default infotips show you things like size and type which you already know, this small tutorial shows you how you can have useful information like program version or file owner popping up as an infotip instead. This artikel is rather advanced but users with reasonable familiarity with the windows registry should follow it easily and make the best out of the infotips, showing information that is otherwise unavailable in 2x due to its poor column handling.

[3.Oct.2002] 2xExplorer Z1 "feature"-fix
A couple of small annoyances (vis. bugs) were reported and are hereby corrected. If you are using single click activation or huge files then you should get the upgrade. Moreover the help file (see announcement of 28/Aug below) is now accessible from the Help menu, but you still need to download it separately.
