■ xplorer² v6.1 released, codename Bits'n'Bobs

The latest version 6.1 isn't going to shake the file management establishment — but useful features are there to be found. Your browsing experience within mobile phones gets better, as they now appear in the drive-list <ALT+F1> for easy access to your phone. The available free space is also shown on the statusbar like in regular HD folders.

Deep path (folder names >260 letters) browsing is also improved, especially so in transitional folders, just before the onset of deep paths; hence you can create deep folders easier! For windows 10 you can see the shell context menu for 1-item selections, and also enjoy item infotips. Every little helps!

A new toolbar button Open With offers easy access to "open with" applet available in the shell context menu. Clicking on the button pops a menu with programs available to open the selected file (e.g. Notepad/Wordpad for TXT files).

If you don't see this button, add it to the toolbar through customization.
