■ Get more file management power with xplorer² ultimate edition
Let's look in detail why xplorer² ultimate costs more than professional edition (if in a hurry just watch the demo videos)
Fast text search in documents. Searching for text inside files is slow, and even more so for office (DOC/XLS) and PDF documents. But if you add your document folders in the windows search index, xplorer² ultimate will find them in no time — the content search speed increase is orders of magnitude! Other common file properties like comments and keywords/tags are also faster to locate through the search index. Note xplorer² is sharing the system search index, avoiding extra resource strain on your PC.

Better file search in general. The menu command Tools > Fast search can quickly find text document properties with a simpler user interface. Multiple search keywords are supported in a natural "google-like" manner, without commas or other symbols as required by the professional version.
More file properties. xplorer² can show (and search) around 350 file details like Author, Tags and so on. The ultimate edition can access another 1000(!) or so system properties via the szSystemPropsList registry tweak. If a document property page shows something not exposed as a column, you will certainly find it as a system property.
It's portable (optionally). If you work on other people's computers or your boss won't allow you to install xplorer² on your work computer, just create a portable installation on a USB stick. Use the program options to write settings in an INI file.
If you install ultimate on your home computer it's best to use the registry for program settings
WCX packer plugin support. On top of Total Commander WLX and WDX plugins the ultimate edition can integrate with packer WCX plugins. Thus you can browse into many kind of archives in the same way xplorer² enters into zipfolders.
For example getting Total7zip will allow you to browse into compressed archives like 7z, RAR, GZ and more. Using File > Enter archive menu command you can also browse into pseudo-ZIP formats like JAR, APPX, DOCX and the like, even peek inside xplorer² installer!
User-defined file properties. Using the flexible programmable column you can combine individual file properties in boolean expressions and create your own super-properties. These can be then used as any other file column, for display, sorting, filtering and searching for matching files. It is really versatile and the possible uses are too many to enumerate — just use your imagination!
