"The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing. If you can fake that, you’ve got it made" — Groucho Marx

As yet another year draws to its close, it's customary taking a break from festive eating and drinking to reflect on what happened during the past 12 months. 2007 was really lucky for xplorer². By popular demand it won the european Epsilon award after seeing off some strong software competitors like winrar and isobuster. Its popularity is growing by the day; thanks to exposure in popular sites like lifehacker xplorer² has climbed to number 15 (and rising!) of popular file management programs at download.com with nearly 400,000 downloads.

The program sales are good enough to make even Scrooge break a smile and I am seriously considering quitting the day job to concentrate on xplorer² full time. We'll see if there are going to be any drastic new year's resolutions! All in all a year to cherish; let's hope that the leap year 2008 won't cast any wicked spells. I wish the same to you and yours!

Below is a list of the most popular articles posted in 2007, calculated as page hits per day shown. I wouldn't say they are the most informative but they have been the most clicked. They represent a good snapshot of what was hot. Don't forget to click on demo buttons wherever you see one for extra demonstrations.

  1. Epsilon award celebrations
  2. xplorer² compared against other popular file managers
  3. v1.7 release announcement
  4. xplorer² confirmed as top dog in web popularity
  5. Users decide what goes in next xplorer² version
  6. MP3 renaming made easy
  7. First glance at the new windows Vista

I kept the best for last. I found some free time and am currently working on a small upgrade finishing off features you have requested. I won't have time to finish everything but we should get good toolbar customization, perhaps even skinning support. More on that in a few days.

Happy new (leap) year 2008 folks!
